Hola friends, enemies and aliens like me. This is jD M. Shapiro. Many, many great things and even some magical things came from doing the festival.
Among them are:
I was fortunate enough to have several agencies from The USA & UK wanted to rep me after seeing my show. I choose to go with Mirth Control Comedy.
Having many people enjoy my show, laugh, be inspired and/or entertained.
My new found love of a place I’d never been: Edinburgh, Scotland. Fantastic architecture, Indian food, fish & chips, and the people; the glorious people of Edinburgh and Scotland! As well as many I had the honor to meet from other areas of Scotland, as well as those from other countries including: Ireland, whales, England, India, Australia, and The USA (Well, the ones from USA who weren't carrying guns).
I’d also like to thank the majority, but not all, of the WORKING STAFF at the Gilded Balloon; those hired by the owners (Not to be confused with the owners nor the heads of certain departments like say, tech). You were AMAZING! You were the backbone of the GB, all overworked and underpaid. From the box office staff, to those who ran the door of my show, to those who worked for the food vendors inside and outside of the GiB to to the press people... You were wonderful!! And in spite of having way to much put on your plates and being overworked & underpaid you handled it with true professionals, dignity and grace (While those in positions over you tried to strip many of you of your dignity) And you always, ALWAYS worked with a smile. From the bottom of my heart and soul I thank you for all you did for me and my show, the audiences who came to my show and how great you always made me feel. You fill my heart with joy and love and YOU inspire me.
Among the other great things that came from me doing. my show is the greatest gift one can every receive: Friendships. Ones I believe will last a lifetime…and beyond.
